Wise launches custom travel eSIM plans inside its account
Eligible Wise customers can set the data allowance and duration for selected trips, while preset plans cover 150+ destinations. Availability depends on account region and route.

Wise has added a reusable travel eSIM
Wise announced on 6 October that customers can now buy travel eSIM data through a Wise account. The profile is installed once and can then carry future plans purchased in the app or on the web. Wise says its preset and regional options cover more than 150 countries and territories.
The new part is a plan builder for selected popular destinations. Eligible customers can choose their data allowance and number of days rather than accepting only a fixed bundle. Wise lists the UK, EEA, US, Canada, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand as supported customer regions for the custom-plan rollout.
Plan validity starts at the destination
Wise's support documentation says the validity timer begins when the eSIM first connects to a supported network at the destination, not when the profile is installed. Travellers can therefore complete setup before departure and keep the line off until they are ready to use it.
Multiple plans can remain attached to the same installed eSIM. Purchases currently draw from a Wise balance rather than an external card or bank account, and each Wise account is limited to one eSIM, so it cannot run separate active profiles on two devices.
Customisation is not available for every route
Build-your-own allowances and durations are currently limited to selected destinations. Wise directs customers to the Travel eSIM area for the current packages and local networks. It also blocks a single-country plan for the country where the account is registered, although a regional or global plan may still include that country.
Wise identifies Gigs as its connectivity partner. The official material does not publish one universal set of speeds, traffic priorities or throttling rules for all destinations, so those details need to be checked for the specific plan and network before purchase.
The launch does not prove network performance
eSIM.press has not bought a Wise plan or tested installation, coverage, speed or refunds. The sources establish the launch, supported account regions, reusable-profile model and general conditions, but they do not demonstrate equal service quality across more than 150 destinations.
Prices and available allowances vary by trip and may change, so this report does not present them as universal terms. Travellers still need to confirm that their phone supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked, then review the exact coverage and refund conditions shown in their Wise account.
