Rating Methodology
Eligibility rules for numeric ratings and the structure of eSIM plan assessment.
Unit of assessment
The unit of assessment is a specific combination: plan × seller × destination × duration/allowance × scenario × verification date. Provider-level impressions do not replace plan-level evidence.
A numeric rating is permitted only after availability, primary sources and data completeness are checked. Data confidence is displayed separately from a score.
Formula
Plan Score (100): network 25; value 20; scenario fit 15; terms 10; activation and UX 10; support 10; features 5; data quality 5.
Provider Reliability (100): fulfilment 20; activation 20; support 20; refunds 15; accuracy 15; security and transparency 10. Final score: 0.75 × Plan Score + 0.25 × Provider Reliability.
Prohibitions
Low-confidence data cannot receive Best Overall. We do not award points for commercial relationships or claim testing without a protocol and raw data.
A methodology change requires a dated changelog entry.
