Valid extends GSMA SAS-SM certification to its IoT eSIM manager
Valid's certified Madrid operation now covers its eSIM IoT Remote Manager for standards-based profile lifecycle management under SGP.32.
What changed in Valid's certification scope
Valid announced on 22 July that it had extended the scope of its GSMA SAS-SM certification to include the company's eSIM IoT Remote Manager, or eIM. The component manages eSIM profile downloads and lifecycle operations for enterprise IoT systems built around the SGP.32 specification.
The extension applies to Valid's certified operations in Coslada, near Madrid. Valid positions the step as part of its support for mobile operators, device makers and enterprises moving distributed fleets towards remote connectivity management.
What GSMA SAS-SM assesses
GSMA describes SAS-SM as an audit and certification scheme for providers of eUICC subscription-management services. It assesses operational sites and the security controls used when sensitive data and remote-profile infrastructure are handled.
Certification indicates that the declared site and processes passed the scheme's audit requirements. It is not a test of mobile-network quality, compatibility with a particular device or the availability of a future commercial deployment.
Why the scope extension matters for IoT teams
SGP.32 is designed for remote profile management across IoT devices such as meters, trackers, industrial equipment and connected vehicles. Adding eIM to the SAS-SM scope gives prospective customers another security-assurance signal about the operational environment behind that management component.
A deployment decision still requires separate evidence about supported operators and countries, device integration, service terms, resilience and migration of existing profiles. The accreditation does not settle those project-specific questions.
What the announcement leaves open
Valid did not name initial customers for the certified eIM, disclose the number of devices already managed, set out new deployment dates or publish independent performance results. The announcement therefore confirms a wider certification scope, not the scale of live use or connectivity quality on any particular network.
