Travel eSIM installed but no internet: a safe checklist
A structured check of the data line, roaming, coverage, network and APN can isolate the problem without deleting the profile too early.
Do not delete the profile first
If the eSIM appears in the phone's SIM settings, profile installation has probably completed. A missing data connection is more often a later-stage issue: the line is disabled, not selected for data, outside coverage, not registered on a supported network or using the wrong APN. Deletion does not correct those settings and may make a single-use QR code unusable.
Save the error message, ICCID or order details and the installation instructions. Then turn off Wi-Fi so it cannot mask the state of mobile data. The checks below move from safe, reversible actions to provider-specific changes.
The first few minutes
Confirm that you are inside the plan's country or regional coverage. Open SIM settings, enable the travel eSIM, assign it to mobile data and allow roaming if the instructions require it. Disable automatic data switching to the home SIM. Toggle airplane mode briefly and restart the phone.
If registration still fails, compare the plan's supported networks with those shown by the phone and use manual selection only when the provider documents it. Do not keep a random network selected: the partner can vary by plan and destination. Also verify that data remains and the validity period has not ended.
APN and support escalation
The APN tells the network how to establish a mobile-data session. It is automatic on many phones. Enter a value manually only from the seller's instructions; a plausible but incorrect APN can leave the phone registered without internet access. Change one variable at a time so the successful step remains identifiable.
If the profile is absent, the QR code fails or the phone cannot offer eSIM setup, the problem is closer to installation or compatibility. Apple advises checking carrier support, software updates and the exact error. For support, prepare the device model, OS version, destination, time of the attempt, ICCID and screenshots that do not expose a QR code or activation secret.

The checklist is based on Apple and Nomad guidance available on 27 August 2026. It prioritises reversible settings and preserving the installed profile. eSIM.press has no access to the reader's device and cannot diagnose a particular connection remotely.
