Vodafone launches a global Travel eSIM platform for 206 destinations
We break down Vodafone's official Travel eSIM launch, including its stated coverage, data packages, hotspot support and open questions.

What Vodafone announced
Vodafone introduced a digital Travel eSIM platform for international trips. In its official announcement, the company says the service is available across 206 destinations and 700 mobile networks, including 5G in 98 countries.
The service is aimed at customers on any mobile network. People can choose a package through travel.vodafone.com or the app, receive the eSIM digitally and activate it while travelling.
The terms described in the announcement
Vodafone describes data packages from 1 GB to 150 GB, with validity of up to 90 days. The release also mentions top-ups and mobile hotspot support for multiple devices.
The published starting prices are $4 for Europe, $6 for North America, $8 for the Middle East and $11 for Africa. These are starting points in the announcement, not one price for every destination or package.
What it means for a trip
The platform combines digital purchase and activation: a traveller can select a package before departure and activate the eSIM after arriving. The existing SIM and phone number can remain in the device.
Vodafone says Travel eSIM is data-only. Standard voice calls and SMS are not included, so those services remain on the user's primary or roaming SIM.
What the release does not confirm
The announcement does not provide one price-and-coverage table for all 206 destinations, does not establish the actual network for every package and does not replace checking the specific plan before purchase.
The figures of 700 networks and 98 countries with 5G describe Vodafone's platform. For a particular destination, travellers still need to check the available package, network, activation window and hotspot terms.
