Roamless documents an account-preserving eSIM move to a new phone

The process deletes and reinstalls the profile instead of using Apple's transfer control. Roamless says balances, active plans and rewards stay with the account.

Roamless now documents the device move

Roamless updated its official device-transfer guidance on 28 August. The company says a customer can move the service to a new phone without losing account credit, active data plans or rewards, and describes the Roamless profile as having no limit on device changes.

The documented method is a delete-and-reinstall flow rather than a direct operating-system transfer. Roamless specifically tells iPhone users not to select the Transfer eSIM control in iOS settings when moving this profile.

How the move works when both phones are available

Both devices should have a reliable Wi-Fi connection, and Airplane Mode should be off on the new phone. The customer deletes the Roamless profile from the old device, installs the Roamless app on the replacement phone and signs in to the same account.

The new installation starts from Data, Install eSIM and Install Now in the app. Roamless then directs the user to select the new line for cellular data and set data roaming according to the plan being used.

An inaccessible old phone requires a new profile

A lost, broken or otherwise inaccessible old device changes the process because its installed profile cannot be removed. Roamless says the customer must contact support and ask for a new eSIM to be issued to the existing account.

Once that profile is available, the customer signs in on the new device and follows Install eSIM and Activate Now. The help page suggests updating the app and restarting the device when activation fails, but gives no service time for support or reissuance.

The support page leaves several limits open

The sole official source does not say when the capability first became available, list the app versions and handset models that complete the whole flow, specify how often a replacement profile can be requested or describe any identity check after a device is lost.

eSIM.press has not tested deletion, reinstallation or plan retention on a live account. The evidence is limited to Roamless's published procedure and its statements about preserving credit, active plans and rewards; a successful move still depends on account access, device compatibility and activation.
